Mona Weiss – Ohio BWC
BIO: With 37 years in the field, Mona Weiss is a well-rounded safety professional, answering her calling by starting college at age 12. : ) She holds a Bachelor of Science in Safety Engineering from Murray State University, the first university accredited by the ASSP. Prior to joining the BWC, she worked for 3 Forbes-rated companies across Ohio, Michigan and North Carolina. She also enjoyed work overseas, performing ergonomics research and also conducting Industrial Hygiene sampling for Finnish, Swedish and Soviet-based shipyards and manufacturers. She has now consulted for a countless variety of employers during her 32 year career with the Ohio BWC. Mona is utterly dedicated to helping employees be more safe and comfortable so that they can best enjoy their evenings with their families.
Mona was the Team Lead for the Ohio BWC’s Trenching Seminars from 2019-2023. She is a certified Audiometric Technician, a Certified Forklift Instructor, a federally authorized OSHA OUTREACH construction trainer, a published blogger, a mining safety trainer, and an Ohio BWC Learning Center instructor. She is a former EMT and EMT instructor, Ohio Fire Fighter and Dale Carnegie Graduate Instructor.
