Presentation Description: What is required of the City of Toledo by our Stormwater Permit and our role as both regulator and regulated
Ways that industry can be proactive about stormwater protection (i.e. things we like to see on inspections, etc.)
How being “extra eyes” in the field and reporting water pollution concerns can benefit us all

Presenter: Marilyn Berry DuFour
Biography: Marilyn Berry DuFour has served the City of Toledo for 26 years, including 11 years as an Assistant Naturalist in the Department of Parks, Recreation & Forestry and 15 years in the Department of Public Utilities, Division of Environmental Services. While with Environmental Services, she has tackled a broad range of assignments in wastewater and surface water sampling, air pollution complaint investigation, air pollution and industrial wastewater monitoring and stormwater education and protection. Marilyn is currently a Senior Environmental Specialist in the Stormwater Section with primary responsibility in Public Education and Outreach, Public Participation and Involvement and Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Biology from Heidelberg University.

Presenter: LaShawna R. Weeks
Biography: LaShawna R. Weeks joined the Toledo Division of Environmental Services, Stormwater Section in October 2017. She serves as a lead inspector for the City of Toledo’s Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination Program and, alongside this, conducts stormwater compliance inspections and enforcement activities for private construction sites and industrial and commercial facilities. Some of her other roles include investigating complaints of suspected violations of pollution control laws, educating business and the general public on environmental laws and pollution prevention measures, performing technical and project management for a broad range of special projects and serving on various committees addressing environment-related issues. LaShawna holds a B.A. in Geology from the College of Wooster.
