Presentation Description: Health Care environments have multiple regulatory and accrediting bodies that directly impact the Environment of Care and Emergency Management. Safety Management, Hazardous Materials, Medical Equipment, Life Safety, Security, and Utility Systems all fall under the Environment of Care umbrella. This presentation will focus on the requirements that fall under Safety Management, Hazardous Materials, Life Safety, and Emergency Management in the health care environment.

Biography:Heather Lorenz is a Board-Certified Industrial Hygienist, Board-Certified Safety Professional and Certified Medical Laser Safety Officer with more than 20 years of experience in industry, academic, and clinical environments. Heather has a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Health from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s in Occupational Health from The University of Toledo.
Heather has comprehensive environmental, safety and industrial hygiene experience. She directs the Department of Environmental Health and Radiation Safety at The University of Toledo. Responsibilities include program management, working closely with other administrative offices to assist with compliance, environmental, health and safety issues related to faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors on the campuses of the University of Toledo including The University of Toledo Medical Center and associated clinics.
